Crisis Support

If you are in crisis right now

You deserve immediate, specialized human support. Please use one of these resources now:

  • 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US) — call or text 988. Available 24/7.
  • Crisis Text Line (US) — text HOME to 741741.
  • Outside the US — contact your local emergency services or your country's crisis line.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number right away.

What our crisis protocol does

The DailyBeBetter Coach is configured to recognize when a person expresses self-harm or suicidal ideation during a session, and to respond with a fixed, safety-first protocol rather than continuing to coach. When such ideation is detected, the Coach:

  1. Acknowledges with warmth — it recognizes what the person has shared and affirms that they deserve the most specialized support available.
  2. Provides crisis resources — in the US, it refers the person to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988, 24/7) and to the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741); outside the US, to local emergency services or a crisis line.
  3. Redirects to specialized support — it makes clear that what the person is describing deserves a professional who specializes in exactly that kind of care.
  4. Does not continue the coaching session — the Coach does not attempt to coach through a crisis, minimize it, or explore it. Safety takes precedence over everything else.
  5. Flags the session for human review — the session is flagged internally so a person can review it.

This protocol applies to any user, whether the person is interacting by voice or by text. The same crisis referral is also surfaced as an explicit element inside the app, so it can be reached the moment it is needed.

DailyBeBetter is not a crisis service

DailyBeBetter is a coaching and personal-development wellness service. It is not therapy, counseling, psychiatric care, or medical advice, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. The protocol above exists to make sure that, in the rare moments when a person needs specialized human help, they are pointed to it immediately — not so the Coach can act as a substitute for that help. If you need help now, please use the resources at the top of this page.
